In 2007, 2008 and 2010 photographer V. Tony Hauser travelled to Kenya donating his time to document the humanitarian work of Canada’s most inspired international, youth-motivated aid organization, WE Charity (formerly Free the Children).

Attracted and captivated by the complex customs of various African tribes Hauser became acquainted with traditional Maasai villagers who eventually invited him to their homes to be photographed. Intrigued by the Maasai’s regal poise and serenity, the photographer began to make portraits with both modern and antique cameras resulting in intimate, engaging and elegant images of tribal chiefs, elders, families and children or young ‘warriors’ at the brink of manhood.

The masterfully produced collection of limited edition photographs is rendered in platinum, silver or carbon pigment prints. The complete collection is available for viewing at the studio / gallery, 37 King Street East, Toronto Ontario.

The proceeds from the sales of the limited edition prints will be donated to WE Charity, to be directly invested in projects benefitting the communities in the Maasai Mara.
